Hair Care Guide
At Your Wig Maker, we are committed to providing the highest quality hair extensions and wigs. To ensure that your investment lasts and continues to look beautiful, proper care is essential. Follow these simple but effective tips to maintain the texture, softness, and shine of your products.
1. WASHING & CLEANING
Raw Hair Extensions:
Raw Hair is delicate and requires careful washing to maintain its natural texture.
- Use sulfate-free shampoo and a hydrating conditioner.
- Avoid washing your extensions too frequently. We recommend washing every 2 to 3 weeks, unless they’ve been exposed to styling products or dirt.
- Do not scrub or rub the hair. Gently massage the scalp and roots with your fingers to remove impurities.
Virgin Hair Extensions:
Virgin Hair can be washed more frequently but still requires a gentle approach.
- Use a sulfate-free shampoo, preferably one designed for treated or colored hair.
- Wash the extensions with care, always in one direction to prevent tangling.
2. DRYING
Raw Hair Extensions:
After washing, always air dry your Raw Hair extensions. Air drying preserves the natural texture and structure of the hair.
- Do not wring or rub the hair with a towel. Gently blot out excess water.
Virgin Hair Extensions:
Virgin Hair can be air-dried or blow-dried on a low heat setting.
- If using a blow dryer, set it to a moderate heat to prevent damage from excessive heat.
3. STYLING
Raw Hair Extensions:
Avoid using high-heat styling tools like straighteners or curling irons on Raw Hair, as it has not been treated to withstand high temperatures.
- If you wish to change the style, you can straighten Raw Hair gently by air drying or use minimal heat.
Virgin Hair Extensions:
Virgin Hair is more resilient to heat. You can use a flat iron or curling iron on moderate heat (max 180°C/350°F).
- Always use a heat protectant spray to maintain the hair’s integrity and avoid heat damage.
4. DETANGLING & SHINE
- Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently detangle your extensions or wig while they are still damp.
- Start from the tips and work your way up to the roots to prevent breakage.
- To maintain shine, apply a lightweight oil or serum to the lengths. Avoid heavy or greasy products, as they can weigh the hair down.
5. STORAGE
Proper storage is key to keeping your extensions and wigs in good condition when not in use.
- For wigs: Store your wig on a foam head or mannequin to maintain its shape.
- For extensions: Keep your extensions in a satin or silk pouch to minimize tangling and friction.
6. NIGHTTIME PROTECTION
- Wear a satin or silk bonnet at night to reduce friction and preserve the hair’s natural moisture.
- Alternatively, you can wrap your extensions or wig in a satin scarf to keep them protected while you sleep.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent drying out the hair.
- Do not use harsh chemicals such as permanent hair dye or bleach on Raw or Virgin Hair unless done by a professional.
- Handle with care. Treat your hair with love and it will maintain its beautiful texture, softness, and shine for years to come.
By following these simple steps, your Your Wig Maker hair will stay beautiful and last longer, giving you stunning hair every day.
